Photo Studio Dery is more than a company that provides professional photography – it is also a great photography training resource. I recently completed a Digital Photography Course delivered by Gaetan Dery and found it most useful. There are so many things that a DSLR camera can do that iPhones can’t match and that automatic settings can’t achieve. It was great to learn how to take pics manually in all lighting conditions, how to create special effects, and how to optimize settings to achieve top-notch photographic results.

Not only did we delve in technical settings in this 12 week course, we also covered composition, exposure, sharpness, light, colour and more. Practical hands-on exercises included three photoshoots; at the Experimental Farm Arboretum, at Hogs’ Back Falls and Mer Bleue Bog. I truly enjoyed the experience and found it to be a great source of inspiration to pursue photography with passion.

Gaetan Dery is a professional photographer and his knowledge flows with ease. His laidback style makes learning fun. He goes out of his way to ensure that everything is understood and applied well. Gaetan is also well equipped to print photos on canvas and on art archival paper. The colours and luminosity in hissample prints were awesome! It is without hesitation that I recommend him as a Photography Instructor, or Photo Coach as I called him.

I have been meaning to write you since my weekend away with my hubby to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I gave him the Boudoir Photobook you created for me and I got the intended effect. He actually had tears in his eyes he was so overwhelmed that I would have done something like this for him. He absolutely loves the photos.

I did show it to a few girlfriends as well and they all loved it and I have them thinking about doing it for themselves.

Hubby was so impressed with your photos that he would like to get some photos taken of us ... a portrait. I'm not sure what format you have for doing this sort of thing. We could discuss that. I know that you are heading into your busy season with weddings, etc, so we don't need it scheduled right away…..Thanks again for a wonderful experience and an amazing product.

I have always wanted to have a boudoir photographic session but I have always been too shy. As well, I am afraid of the camera and in general, very uncomfortable having my photo taken.

Recently Colette and Gaétan from Photo Studio Dery offered to do a Boudoir photo session with me at our Bed & Breakfast (Terrace Green)

Always up for a challenge, I took a deep breath and said YES..

Colette was really helpful with setting up the whole thing and stayed with me for the entire photo shoot. Gaétan’s interesting technique rapidly took away my fears and in fact, made me feel completely at ease. It was almost like a man was not in the room and I could relax and let myself be taken by the camera.

The session was over before I knew it and the photos they delivered to me were absolutely fantastic.
